It pains me to see kids who do not receive the support they need to become lifelong learners. No kid should start the school day hungry and without needed school supplies. If we can’t meet these basic needs, there is no way we’re going to see our keiki achieve the love of learning and the knowledge to enable the choices they might want to make in their lives.
For the fourth year in a row, Kona Impact has bought a truckload of school supplies for local keiki. This year we bought 11 backpacks, many calculators, and hundreds of folders, erasers, file folders. pens, pencils, scissors, and much more.
If you know of any children who need school supplies, please have them contact the Salvation Army at 808-326-7780. They have what we have donated and a lot more.
