Paper

Kona Impact has the capability of printing wide-format prints on paper material. Our maximum width is 50” (4 feet and 2 inches) and our maximum length is 150 feet. Yes, 150 feet!

Printing onto paper is a low-cost way to make large graphics. We offer large-format printing onto either glossy paper, semi-glossy paper or matte paper.

We would recommend the matte paper for any use that would involve photography or videography, as matte paper will not have any light reflection which would be inevitable with glossy or semi-glossy paper. On the other hand, most of our poster printing for everyday use is done on our glossy or semi-glossy paper.

What are the advantages of printing onto paper?

  • Low cost (paper is our lowest costing material)
  • Can be printed onto either matte, semi-glossy or glossy paper
  • Usually ready on the same day or the next day after the artwork is approved
  • Large-scale printing possible

Why might you not want wide-format printing onto paper material?

  • Recommended for indoor use only since not durable to weather

Can Kona Impact print anything onto paper?

  • We follow the copyright laws, so we cannot print anything which you don’t own the rights to reproduce. These include “I found it on the Internet” images, copyrighted or licensed characters (such as Disney characters, Star Wars characters, etc…), and unlicensed artworks. If we are uncertain about whether you have the rights to reproduce an image or design, we will double-check with you prior to printing. We do have access to large libraries of licensed artwork, so if you are looking for something in particular please let us know.
  • The quality of an image will usually decrease as you enlarge the image file. If you want to use an image file the size of a postage stamp in order to make a 4’ x 4’ poster, it is highly likely that the image quality of the output is very low
  • We cannot enhance the quality of an image file given. A small sized low-quality image or graphic will still be a low-quality image at any larger size.

The best thing to do is to send us the image and let us know what size you’d like the output to be. We’ll give you a quick and honest opinion of the potential quality of the output(e.g. poor, acceptable, exceptional).

How much does it cost to print a poster?
For a single poster on matte, semi-glossy or glossy paper with a client-supplied PDF file(which still requires some design time on our side), it will be approximately $6 per square feet. For example, a 24” x 36” poster would be approximately $36.

How long does it take for poster printing?
Almost all poster prints are done on the same day or the next day. We usually keep ample amount of paper supplies and printing supplies in our stock.

Do you offer volume discounts for wide-format printing?
Yes. Give us a call at 329-6077 or send an email. Let’s talk.
